Separately, per the Illinois Dept. of Transportation or IDOT, a vehicle's emissions requirements are based on the year of the motor and not the car. Trust me here, I tried to come up with all kinds of variations and combinations to get around the emissions testing!

http://www.streetbeasts.com/models.php says it right in the description

this is only for Arkensas but mentions all the other states that have simmilar bills inacted, SEMA is the reason these bills are out http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/st...4555556&EDATE=

Your first point is very clearly made.

Your second point... not so much. (/Borat off)

The link you provided does include Illinois.

The information as of March 2007 states:

"Vehicles titled and registered as street rods and custom vehicles may only be used for occasional transportation, exhibitions, club activities, parades, tours, etc. and not for general daily transportation."

Most people here will want to classify their car as a classic rather than a kit car classification.

Therein lies the dilemma. If you try to register a glass car (any glass car) as an original without an original frame and vin # (with accompanying ownership documentation of course) you are technically committing fraud (a felony in most states). I do believe that Boyd got in trouble in California over something similar.

The solution is to title it as an assembled vehicle and stay legal.

Come on Mike, maybe it is a defective fence HAHAHAHAHAHAH

That is exactly the best way to do that. Suck it up, and title as an assembled. Me, I had to write a statement of fact, very simple, did all of the paperwork, got a licensed rep. to look and verify what it was, and it was done. More to it than I thought initially, but overall it went well --- Sorry off subject!

Lets see... buy a street beast for say 20k and and spend say 80k getting it to be a good car. OR Spend 50k building a quality car from a reputable company. (i now i am off with the prices) . I mean duh!!!!!!!!!! The problem is people get fooled by the sales tactics and then have to sell it off later when it is time to spend the 80k to make a nice car out of it. The dude wont address the flaws because he will be admitting he sells flawed products. JMO Tim

We will be taking delivery of the SBeast '34 convertible this Wed. We were supposed to receive it from the shipper last week, but due to poor communication, we did not. The shipper dropped the ball and it's no one's fault but theirs.

I'm particularily interested in the frame and seeing if it has the changes that Randy advocated to the people over there at Streetbeasts. Pictures of the frame will be up by weeks' end and in a new post.
