Just remember this; Subpoenas are a wonderful thing and they can compel ISP providers to supply names and actual physical locations connected with IP addresses. Let me assure you that all posts by Streetbeast employees, including those masquerading around the internet as Jon are being tracked and if needed will be revealed either here or in court. I would also imagine the automotive news media will be very interested in Streetbeast's intimidation tactics. The question is how many laws has Streetbeast broken in the process?

When it comes right down to it Streetbeast is too stupid to realize that by trying to take away our right to free speech all they're doing is creating a huge cash of negative publicity. So much so that all the slick misleading color advertisements in the world won't be able to dig them out of this one.

Everything has numbers on the internet. Everything can be tracked on the internet..... those numbers are cached in various servers, backup servers, various cyber vaults.

Subpoenas might be embarassing, but it's discovery that's expensive and leads to juicy tidbits which just seem to hang around long after the litigants go home.

For example, there were thousands of plaintiff's exhibits in the Comes v. Microsoft antitrust case. Wondrous things like email from Bill Gates surfaced:

Doesn't look too bad, eh? It does when you remember that MS swore in the DoJ antitrust case that they weren't leveraging the desktop monopoly to squash competitors, yet there's the top dog telling the execs to do just that.

Of course, part of the settlement in the Comes case was that the documents be removed from the Iowa consumer case website. That didn't help MS because the court documents were public domain and there are a lot of people willing to mirror such documents on the Web.

I'm looking forward to seeing all the skeletons come out of the beastly closet. There's already a mountain of public documents supporting every word and phrase in the Streetbeasts fraud controversy wiki article. Discovery should turn that into a volcano for the delight and education of all who might stumble upon the name of the beast.

Just in case Streetbeasts doesn't survive the expense of (and fallout from) discovery, the wiki article and its (legitimate, non-faked) mirrors will stand as records for future historians researching this particular footnote of automotive history.
