Frivolous

First off thanks to Jon for this site, I know the money and effort it takes to maintain a server.

I am not well off enough to donate but I've been watching court TV over and over and can give you what Judges have been saying about defamation (over and over). That is - if you have reasonable proof that what you said is true, then no defamation took place because you're not lying. If they were indicted by the federal gov., how hard is it to get a copy of that verdict ? Probably everything you said can be proven true, just make sure you are organized and gather evidence on each point.

Otherwise, yeah it is outrageous, the law needs to be changed, hell the whole system needs to be changed. It failed the Romans, surely it's failing us too.

I can't do anything from here but I followed it from the very beginning and and I believe that Jon and us here at as a community are in the right( we will bare the brunt of any legal action if it fails) . He has merely stated facts and not based any of his comments on NON facts . Those facts as stated are there to serve as a warning to others who may inadvertantly deal with this company and lose money.Whether or not they chose to spend money after receiving a warning is entirely their own concern.
The company concerned is attempting to remove this warning from the public domain so they can continue to recieve money from those who have no idea of their buisiness practices.
It will be up to the company to prove that NO ONE single person has ever been unhappy with their product or service .
Because they are bringing the suit,it is up to them to prove their business has suffered because of NON factual comments made about them AND that the services provided are perfect in every respect and desired by the public at large.

As had been noted, the only defence against defamation is Truth. Let them provide eveidence that UN truths have been stated.

Put a nice set of early hemi rebuilt rocker shafts up on e-bay tonight. All proceeds (less shipping and listing fees) will go to the "Free Speech" fund.

How do I contribute other than PayPal?

I may be new but I know a good cause when I see it.
It's astounding that some merchandisers are so willing to alienate potential customers for a quick buck rather than give good customer service for a long term profit and continued growth.

My son and his wife are both lawyers but they wouldn't like StreetBeast's approach at all.

Thanks everyone -- we are already looking good with the donations.

I've just set up the Free Speech Parts Auctions forum. If you like, you can toss in a part that you'd like to auction (or a link to an auction on eBay), and donate 50% or more of the winning bid to the Free Speech Fund.

Donation is done.

What a crock of -----, perhaps I can relate as this was done to me a few years back by a company that was one of the largest in world.
Do you know after one year of depositions and letters between attorneys I never did know a specific reason was being sued.

But here is how you change things real quick.
First if suit is filed by the corporation, you file a suit against the officers of the corporation individually, let them prove corporate shield protection.

Then you file a suit against all the lawyers, man that changed things real fast as you would have thought the world was coming to an end and it was for the initial suit.

Hey, just happen to have a GA lawyer that specializes in suing lawyers, hard to come by but this little lawyer brought three of the larger law firms in the country to there knees.

Posting donation amount

Hey Jon...how about posting an amount that has been received so far for the effort? All members would probably like to know how well it is actually doing.

Although I would like to know how much has been raised I am sure Streetbeasts would as well. I don't think we should share that info with them. What do you other guys think??

I think it would be a great idea. Then maybe Streetbeast might realize that they are in for a real fight and drop the suit.

That is, if the fund is getting to be sizable.

Remember, they are spending their own money which could be limited also. Which I am sure it is, because it takes too long for them to get to any warrantee work. They have to wait until they get more money from other customers to take care of the the one's they have already sold crap to.
