Streetbeasts mistake

I am happy to hear about the end of Streetbeast. I did however buy a 34 Cabro after a visit to the factory while on vacation. Now after several years and over 3000 hours work the car is ready to paint. I did try to purchase a top for the car from Streetbeast, now I know why it was not possible as they would not give a shipping date without payment. I am crazy not stupid . If someone knows of a folding or fiberglass top please email me.
If one is not to be found, I'll just have to make one. There is not much on the car that has not been changed, corrected, or fixed. A top should not be much of a problem.

Sorry that I can't help you with the top, but I am glad to see that someone besides myself views life in the same way:

I could be mistaken, but I believe the cabro. is just the coupe with the top cut off. This was streetbeasts idea of a cabro. I didn't know they made a top for it, but if you are going to make one, IMO you would be better off making it before paint, than trying it after. I would think that some one that made or did cloth tops could come up with a top that looked good. a hardtop could be made if you could find a coupe that was wrecked, and cut the top off and then put clamps on it to hold it to the body, you would have to finish the top on the bottom and put in part of the clamp, which you can't fiberglass in because it won't hold. I have the name of some stuff that you can use to bond metal to glass which does work great.

I am sending a picture of my coupe so you can see what it would look like.

Glass top

Thank you for your reply. The tops do not appear to be the same as the windshield has a square top and glass. Original windshield molding will not fit either. Your are correct about the paint, I have made wood forms to use to get a idea of what I may need in fiberglass or aluminum. After paint this fall I only have to drill and tap mounting points, no problem, I hope. I have found a few glass body makers who make lift off, Carson type tops, I need a road trip anyway, so may check and if possible with a few mods one of these may work. Thanks again for the help and good luck on your build. Be happy to help if I can.

I know yours is square, They did change that part and I forgot to say. Your choice, but i'm sure they are the same except for that. I have seen the car they used.

I'm not familiar with the Cabriolet, but here's a soft top for a '34
