strip poly rubber bumper

I'm putting together an 80 camaro, working to get ready for paint. Those rubber bumpers need to be stripped I think; they don't seem to sand completely and I want to be careful not to scuff them badly. How and what do I use to get the paint off them. I already know it takes a special primer so spare me all that. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Chuck

You might try one of those 3M stripping discs. They'll leave
scratches, but primer should fill them OK.

I would not use a chemical stripper on the bumpers, since it'll
soak in with no way to remove, and cause all kinds of problems.
