Stroker flywheel

I have a 383 stroker that is internally balanced. Forged 400 crank and have starter issues. I put on a 168 tooth 350 flex plate and it does not seem to go on right {straight}. I also have another 168 tooth that seems to push the outside of the plate towards motor the way it is built. When the starter turns it will not disengage all the way. Is there a diffferent flex plate for the 400 crank that is not externaly balanced or do I have other issues. Any help appreciated.

All 400 from the factory were externally balanced. I have herd of weights being removed from flex plates. But not sure if thats the right thing to do in your case. The machine shop should be able to recommend you the correct part number. Since they did the work they will know best what parts you need.
