Stuck on Highway today...ford diesel question...

Well hopped on highway today with my 95 7.3l diesel ford truck...and all of a sudden the truck bogged out....I had power for lights etc....it was trying to turn over but wouldn't catch....I tried both fuel tanks and still didn't start....Idk if its a fuel relay or fuel pump or fuel vaccuum for the injectors....there was nothing leaking...tranny fluid and oil was all set...any insight on what it could be or what caused it?....I hope its not going to be a pricey bill....thanks for all the help....trucks at a shop now but what to get some insight first...thanks again

Tach ?

If the Tach didn't move when cranking ,It could be the sensor on the front behind the damper. Ford Had a recal on them in 2001.

Well the shop called...parts and labor $145...apparently it was the solinoid to the injectors burnt up .....what could have caused that? To much fuel all in one shot?
