Stupid gearhead story

I have pulled my hair out for 2 weeks trying to fix my turn signals. Installed a new switch, traced wiring, pulled the steering wheel 3 times, asked all kinds of questions on this site and looked all over the internet.
Tonight I pulled the steering wheel again and all the stuff to get to the switch, again, looked and thought, It CAN'T be that easy! Because thats when I realized I had the hazard lights engaged and since I don't have them hooked up I didn't know they were on. Turn signals don't work when the hazards are on!!!!! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. O well, at least I have a spare switch now. Good luck Guys!!!

I don't know what else to say except that we have all been there in one way or another.

Look at it this way...now you've become a turn signal expert, and can help out the rest of us when we are baffled.

Don't feel bad- I worked with a guy who taught a class at a college on
auto repair. Someone sent a lady with a 1 year old Lincoln that had
been to 3 different dealers because the dash brake light was on. The
car had the abs computer replaced, the sensors replaced etc. As she
was pulling the car in he noticed the taillight was out on one side- sure
enough the circuit ran thru the bulb- replaced the bulb and the problem
was fixed. Even the pro's have problems with electrical issues- that's
why guys like DocVette were so revered. Jim
