Stupid loose window.

I can not find any useful info on this.

My passenger window (01 accord) seems to be loose.
The lower the window in the door the "tighter" it seems.
The higher it gets the "looser" it gets.
When it gets about 1 - 1.5 inches from fully closed there is a metal pop sound, the window moves slightly forward, and it does not seat in the seal properly.

I took off the door panel and nothing looks out of place, however it's fairly hard to see inside.

Would swapping a new regulator fix the problem, or should would the problem be in the track?

Ideas?

I had the same problem on my wife's Montana. Turned out the rubber guide towards the back of the door came loose, and did exactly what you are describing. But mine went even father and the window fell down once when I closed the door. The pop sound is the window making contact with the metal tabs that hold the rubber guide in place. It presses up against it as the window rolls up, and when it clears, the window "pops."
