Stupid question... but

ok, this might be a stupid question but I don't know the answer... So I'm asking the pro's.

I bought an 88 cobra without a tranny, It's a new mustang for me to soup-up since My last one was writen off. The engine just had a lot of work done to it. mostly small stuff, gaskets, Timing, etc. I wanna start the car but I don't know if you can without a tranny.
Theres no tranny, clutch, driveshaft, Just the engine. I tryed to turn it over after I put a new optima battery in and I got nothing. Am I missing something? Is something not connected that needs to be? I checked to see if all the wiring was hooked up and it was, A brand new wiring harness was just put in before I bought it. Any suggestions ?

I know most normal cars will start without a tranny, but I'm not sure about the fuel infected ones...

Neutral safety Switch

Doc here

You may have a neutral safety switch involved in the mix, Especially if your not able to depress the clutch...

Find the Neutral safety Switch, and jumper it for "Park" or "Neutral" or if that can't be done look on the clutch pedal, and jumper that switch.

Hope it helps!
