sub-frame trouble

I went to change my leaf spring from mono to multi on my 70 nova today and I couldn't get the bolt out of the front hanger for the live i've me, I tryed everything so eventually I decided to just unbolt the hanger from the subframe but the bolts just spun. I guess the welded nuts on the inside has broken free, I can't get in there to hold them so I guess I"ll have to cut the heads off and push them up. Trouble is i don't know how i"m gonna bolt the pearch back on. Has anyone has similar problems to this any idea's would be great.

The caged nuts ALWAYS break on these cars, you have to remove the rear seat and cut the floor above where the nuts are, then clamp some vise grips to the nut or torch them off. The nuts are available at any spring shop or good auto parts store.

Oh good its kinda a confort to know it has happened to others. I never thought of cutting that floor to get to them but that sounds like a good idea. Thanks bob.
