subs in cab

i have a 72 f100 with 3spd in the floor and i want to put a sony xplod subwoofer in the floor in front of the stick with the amp under or over it. will it work without having to cut the floor cause then i wouldnt have room. i want to do that and just have a speaker in each door. but i dont ill even be able to hear it over the exhaust anyways.

There is no way to answer that question with out a lot more info, like size of the sub, amp, box construction.... My suggestion... get out a tape measure and start planning, where there is a will there is a way. I know Pioneer makes a really low profile sub designed to fit under a seat, that may be a better option.

And 83SILVERADO, please keep your opinions to yourself when they have no relevance to the posed question. Not all of us on here are about going fast. Looking good and sounding good are just as, if not more, important to some of us, compared to speed. Derogatory opinions are of no use to anyone, and only give very helpful forms such as this one a bad name.

I agree. You are entitled to your opinion, but you didn't help the O.P. with his original question at all.

You can make comments about his truck, it's not necessary to make negative ones. The best thing to do is if you can't say anything positive just keep it to yourself.

Don't know what you mean by putting sub woofer in the floor without cutting the floor. But FYI a sub needs to be in an enclosure of some kind to work properly. The most common setup for a truck is sub or band pass box behind the seat. They come in a variety of sizes or you can make your own. Maybe quiet down your exhaust. It's much more enjoyable to listen to good tunes than loud exhaust.

OK guys lets keep the subject on track and cease with the jabs at each other. These things have a way of escalating to the point of some moderator action being taken.

daoldbuick is right tho. without a box you wont have the square footage required to have the subs working properly. im interested to see how your going to put them in the floor and still having the apporpriate square footage.
