What about downgrading to just 2 or 1 even. Why do you need 4

But isnt that the point??? why do you need 4 12's anyway? a pair of 10's do great if your not going in to competitiomn or anything and will still make your head hurt, then again i'm happy with my 100 watt alpine cassette deck and chitty 6x9's which berely drown out the exhaust rumble

try dynamatting the piss out of the trunk. it removes a lot of noise from the outside as well as isolating interior noises. another nice addition would be to undercoat all of the metal in the trunk with sound deadening on top of the dynamat, every little bit helps. with 4 12's, the trunk is going to rattle no matter what. going down to a pair or even a single isn't a bad idea, although depending on the size of the vehicle. for a larger car, i wouldn't go less than 2 with an 800 pushing them if you still like it loud.

With four 12" in it, how are you going to hear the cop's sireen that's pullin' you over for violating the noise ordinance? Hook 'em up to your home stereo.

You bought four 12's dude, unless you bought them for braggin rights I supposed you want the loud sound dont you??? So if you're dynamating the trunk you now spent a lotta money on 2 pairs of 12's and you cant hear anymore, and now you're happy? If you cant stand the noise in the trunk you wont be able to stand it inside, so leave 'em in the trunk, but dont turn up the volume as much!

yea i enjoy a nice system but i will agree....if you cant tolerate the sound then tone it down...your best bet is to tighten the piss out out of the tailights and any other bolts in there that might shake loose..then depending on money dynomat the hell out of th trunk..that might take some of the noise out of it but in my opinion four twelves is way to much..i have to kicker 15s that prolly sound much crisper and have just as much bass and on top of those perks i can almost promise you that mine dont suck my battery clean ..way to much overkill for a driver dude....thats just my opinion tho

I got me 4 18"s, They don't make that much noise but I can feel the big bumps. And they can make some real sweet music when I put one foot on the brake pedal and the other on the gas and spin them til the cows come home!....Hey wait your talking about subs and not wheels ..... sell them and put the money towards your engine, I don't see how anyone could stand to have their music up that loud. I got a couple 6x9s in my truck, and their more than enough for what I need.

Are these subs all in one box- if so, what kind of box is it (sealed, ported, band pass)? What's the excessive noise from the trunk- is it stuff rattling?
I'm just trying to get a better idea of what you're working with.
