Talking Suggestions for my 305 Chevy Express engine?

2001 Chevy Express Passenger Van, not a conversion, not a cargo. Hardly see any of em, except at airports. Have Hoosier tires, K&N air filter, and a Magnaflow muffler - run with Royal Purple. That's it.

I guess the easy answer is "swap it out for something bigger", but it's still under warranty. After the warranty goes up, what other common options do I have on this engine? Do most "305" engine modifications apply (can I just stick any ol' 305 camshaft in there), or is this Express Vortec 305 "special"?

Unlucky me, I'm feeling powerless now that GM is releasing redesigned Vans with MUCH more powerful engines and the same fuel economy.

Maybe I can be a 305 sleeper Express Van from He11.

Thanks,
- Mason

I don't know if the express 305 is special but, you can get a descent power out of a 305 CI engine if you build it properly. Some Sprint cars are limited to 305 CI and make them produce 550 - 600 HP. Granted that is a big dollar motor. If you can get a 350 CI cheap enough it will make a little more power cheaply, but with the warranty still active you probably should wait. Just an opinion.
