Im almost positive it's where the whole front end of the body flips forward as a whole. Fenders, hood, grille, everything. Gassers used em a lot so they could work on the engine easier.

Probably but I know a suicide front end is when the hodd, grille, and fenders fold forward to reveal the whole engine compartment.

That refers to how hot rodders mount early ford front axles, especially on T-buckets and hot roadsters. They eliminate the front axle x-member and mount the spring to the frame with a little plate that is attached to the front of the frame. Thus the entire front suspension is hanging out in front of the car.

Funny how such a common term is lost in a generation. It was over 50 years ago that I helped a friend build a suicide. This was on, of all things, a tube frame sports car with Allard-style swing axles.

A center mount spring perch is the only place that the front end assm. is mounted solid, thus called a suicide mount.
