summit intakes... who makes 'em?

I've been looking at summit intakes and they look fine, but I was wondering who casts them for summit?

I would think there is a possibility of it being made right next to brodix in Mena Ar. at street & performance.

I have one that a friend gave me for a ford 302 and it has not distinctive markings, no china, no anything. I don't have an edelbrock or any other intake to compare it to side by side.... and its quite possible that the summit name goes on Trick Flow intakes for the Ford applications and Edelbrock for the GM applications... who knows.

Ok, well, I really needed to know for hood clearance issues. Edelbrock's performer tends to be about 3/4" higher than stock, but Holley's intakes tend to be a little closer to stock, yadda yadda.

If you hear anything, let me know.

I've purchased alot of Summit products. Great products for the price. I hear Summits products are actually popular brand products with the Summit name slapped on it. Not for sure, could be their little secret. I highly recommend Summit products, especially if your a budget builder like me.

My dad bought 1 of the Summit OEM balancers for his 350 Goodwrench crate engine, seems to work fine.

I suspect you are right....I do know that at one time Mark did produce intakes but haven't noticed lately when I have visited.

I decided why not ask Summit rather than speculate and guess. Who makes your "Summit brand intakes" This is what they said.

Thanks for writing. We actually have 2 different manufacturers making those
intakes for us. Weiand makes some of them and Performance Products makes the
rest of them.

Thanks,
Kip

Wow... I emailed them and got a surly response that said something like, "we don't divulge information about our suppliers because it would be unethical. Please try our wonderful summit products, they're just as wonderful as gold."

I tried calling them and asking them and got nowhere. So, someone is fired... either your email guy for giving up info, or my email guy for being surly

Thanks so much for the info.
