Post summit/jegs in house ring and pinion

I was looking to get a 3.70 ring and pinion set for my 9 inch. In both summit and jegs their in house brand kits are like $130 and the Richmond gear sets are like $190. The jegs descripion for their in house brand says that its good for street or highway use with an occassional strip abuse. Does this mean that if I race in the good ol stoplight derby and bolt on some slicks to go to the quarter mile that itll break? Is this one of those, you get what you pay for deals? I dont exactly want to take that 100lb 3rd member out again for no reason. Has anybody heard or experienced anything from these generic brands?

I beleive the only difference is that the Richmond sets are forged and then nitrided after machining, this is the ultimate from a strength and durability point of view. The no-name brand versions are heat treated castings and are the same as the factory original gears. Unless you are drag racing all the time and run a high horsepower engine(400+HP) with a standard trans the lower cost versions work well if set up properly.
