Sun visor 2000 Camero

HI -
The driver's side Sun Visor for my 2000 Camero (very low mileage, not used a lot) has come apart. The cheap construction appears to be a 90 degree 2 1/2 inch long piece of bent steel that goes up into the headliner in a small socket, it appears as though there was some crimping to hold it in place.

The crimping that held the metal piece has let go and my efforts to fix it have not worked so far. It looks to me like I would need to take the headliner out to fix this annoying but necessary little visor!

Is there some way to fix it without tearing the headliner apart? Is there a replacement part that can be substituted for this cheap piece of crap that will provide a sun shade with out looking wierd?

Thanks

It should have 3 screws holding it to the inner-roof support. You should not have to remove the headliner to get it off and fix/replace it.
