Sunfire, when in park, and held to floor, only 4K RPM, and spudders bad!

I just started the car now, and It runs like CRAP! I can hold it completely to the floor, and it only gets to 4K RPM, and spudders horrible! What would make it do this? thanks

Depending on the year, it could be clogged convertor, bad coil pack, bad wires &/or plugs, clogged fuel filter or even bad gas...joe

Well, I was just told, that the 2000 sunfire's, have a rev limiter type deal, and it wont go over 4K, but the car still, when I give it gas, kind of pops out the exhaust, and when driving, it has acted up, after about 5 miles. I think it might have water in the gas, becuase when I bought it, the screw on gas cap was missing. also, the check engine light was on, but I just started it today, and now the check engine light is off.

You need to stop creating new threads for the same issue. People get frustrated and will stop helping.

Have you had the code checked to see why the CEL is on. You need to find out what the computer thinks is worng and it may give you a hint as to where to start looking.
I am guessing that is is a MAF issue, but it could be anything.
Get the codes and post back in this thread.
Please do not start any more threads for this issue
