opps didnt see this, he isnt running the th350 yet he still has a bone stock 700r4 behind the engine, he is using a 108$ autozone converter in it which is supposed to be the s10 pickup version which stalls at 2,400 rpms. he is blowing way threw this converter at this point though.

with this new turbo i expect that converter to flash to 5,500 rpms under full boost with the old smaller turbo it would only bottom out to around 4,600 rpms

when the th350 does eventually go in he has to use an adapter plate, the only one im aware of is sold by speedway motors and is around 50 bucks

no restrictor in the oil feed line , on his car were using a -4 an line and fitting,
on my car with the modified oil pump i run a -3 fitting/line since i have 45-55 psi at a hot idle and around 105 psi of oil presure hot at redline

here is a teaser video , this car is going to be beastly on the new turbo setup.
it still needs a whole lot of tunning but there is 0 lag as u can see and now it just blows the rear tires off

this is still on a stock 3.1L engine ( cam only) and 3:23 rear gears, he should be installing the new rear with the posi and 3:73's this comming weekend

his first runs of the season , car went 13.50 and 13.60 spinning off the line/
he only ran 9 psi of boost this first outing and afrs were down in the mid 10's to low 11's so the car is still a bit rich
not blazing fast by any means but considering his fastest pass of last year was 13.31 @ 17 pounds of boost this thing should break 12.99 on 9 psi once he gets the suspension/fueling dialed in and can use the 2step/antilag on the starting line
he had the car detuned a bit from last year as hes a lil gun shy after breaking a piston ring land at the end of last season

last year he was trapping 105-107 , but the mph drop was expected as he was cranking the boost to make up time down track to cover for the lack of starting line power. if he decided to up thie boost this year like last year id expect very low 12's at around 110-115mph

be nice to see what the car does on low boost this year once everything gets sorted out

he changed a whole lot of stuff over the winter
bigger turbo
drag shocks
trans upgrades
alky injection upgrades
new rear old one was 3:23 pegleg new one is a eaton posi with 3:73 gears and moser axles

ill have to update this a lil later with pics but on saturday the car caught fire.he was in his garge witht he car idling when the braided line on the fuel feed from the frame rail to the fuel rail burst.
the pending fuel leak got ignitited by someting which then in turn burnt the alky line which also caught fire.

luckily he had an extinguisher near by and damage to he car wasnt to bad , mostly some burnt up fuel lines , sensor connectors, and a bunch of burnt up wiring.

the probably worst damage was the underside of the hood and the top of the hood were the paint burnt off

i know we have a few talented painters on the boards so if any of u guys are in ohio and think u can color match the paint and repaint his hood let me know and ill pass along ur info to him ( his car is the original 1992 gm maui blue)

ill get some pictures posted a little later today

burnt the paint on the front of the motor and valve covers

Not sure if you can tell but the plastic liner in the drivers side fender well actually blew down. The heat and pressure was that great.

this is the car/car cover that was nexto the camaro

and no that cover didnt look like it was attacked by moths before hand

cars fixed and back in action

we think we know what caused the lined to burst
a warning for all u guys who use ptfe braided hose on ur car do not do any wig or stick welding in the vincity of these lines , the splater from the mig or stick will penetrate the stianless braid and weaken the iner teflon line causing it to burst

he didnt run the camaro over the weekend instead he took out his daily driver
Quote:
Well didnt race the camaro today as it was like 40*s out. Was literly snowing this morning but I did take the gtp instead. It was fun. Fwd is definitly different and so is having street tires. Just horrible 60ft times but I ran upper 14's on the car. It was fun. Heres a video of a 14.75@97mph pass..like 2.35 60ft times.

camaro will be back out this comming weekend
