When Richmond went under; we lost a lot of our T10 business. Richmond was selling T10s through Summitt for less than I could buy one for with a 'wholesale account' Their prices got insane on parts and quality was going every which way. We had some stuff made in italy; I think I have some 2.64 1st gear ratio parts; and we can put rebuilder kits together; but a lot of your so-called 'hard parts' ie Midplates, castings and gearsets, I do not have. G Force is as good a place as you're going to find, they may hit you for a minimum order on a credit card transaction. Check your seals for the tailhousing, shifter shafts and pull the front bearing retainer (snout) and look at the little oil seal in there as well. You may want to replace them.

I am humbled, embarrassed, and elated! You are much better at the internet than I am! Fortunately for me I found the dowel mixed in with my bag of old parts from the rebuild. Crisis averted! Thank you all for helping!

hole in case

I made my own alignment pin from a drill bit. I forget the size. I measured the hole and matched up a drill bit and used the shank. Worked perfectly.

Super T-10 mysterious hole

You are missing the alignment dowel pin which is supposed to be pressed into the mid plate. It pilots into a hole in the main case and also provides alignment for the tail housing extension. The original one may have fallen into the bottom of the main case. Let's hope it is stuck on the magnetic drain plug.

You can't insert the dowel pin from the outside of the tail housing because of the angled surface of the casting. You will have to remove the tail housing extension and that means the trans must be pulled from the car.

While you are at it, take off the side cover and retrieve the dowel pin from the bottom of the case. I do have several of them if you don't find it.
