Supercharger questions..

I have a chevy malibu 1972.. with a 1973 400 small block bored over.. now if I was shopping for a supercharger that was specifically screams like a svt cobra with a whipple..

Which one would I be looking for...142 holley with a 2.5in dia pulley?

Also would I need to buy a "supercharged supported carb" and a new fuel pump?

You didn't provide enough information to make any suggestions. If you do a search on Blowers or Superchargers you should find a lot of info on this site. If after that you have some specific questions, then post them and you will get all the answers you need.

The whipple screams because it is a screw compressor.

The B&M blower will make a squalling sound.

The typical roots blower noise comes from the belt. You will not get that noise with a serpentine belt.

Put the biggest blower you can afford on the engine. If a small street type then use the 250. And yes the fuel and ignition system must be up to supercharger standards.

Interesting sounds that each blower makes. The sound comes from the rotors shearing the air. The gilmer belt drives make the noise from the air being compressed and released in the belt to pulley teeth.

I have some cool video footage of a twin Whipple engine that I built. It screams real loud.
