Suspension for Corvette

I am new to the corvette scene. Just purchased a '79. looking for aftermarket suspension parts- traction devices, shocks, springs, and setups that work. I am looking to keep the car a nice riding car with a suspension that works. Any ideas??

Scca

I would suggest that you spend the money and pay the dues and join SCCA..there are a lot of guys over there who are current on what works and what does not on those things...You will learn a lot at drivers school...

As far as your tire question..lot of guys using Kumho tires on those but they keep a set for the weekend autocross and run Goodyear Eagles or similar on the street as a daily driver tire..The sticky ones do give good traction but they do not last long in daily use..

Tried and true parts go to Vettebrakes.com I have used all of there suspension parts on a C3 and they work the best. If you only do one thing change the rear spring from steel to there composite and add a set of Bilstine shocks. You will think you are driving someone else's Vette, you will love the difference in ride and handling.

Not that I am trying to promote one forum over another, but you might find more topics specific to your vehicle.

Being that your Vette is getting somewhat old, it could probably use bushing all over. Look into some quality poly-urethane setups.
