suspension help

i have a 1991 S10 and was wondering what the best way to lower it would be. i had planned on just lowering it but was advised against this because of the possibility of ripping parts off of the bottom of my truck. i live in Pennsylvania and so the weather leaves many considerable sized potholes. i am looking into the air ride and was wondering if anyone had any advice on what would be the best solution to this problem. any help is appreciated. thanks

airbags

i would spend more time looking into airbags. I've had friends with "hydros" and it was very messy. Leaks all the time and not to mention the batteries and charging. I would invest my money in air, if it leaks, oh well...
