Your full framed GTO will take a lot of power before twisting. If you are turning serious times, say 12 seconds, you will want to install a roll cage. If anchored properly, that in itself will help control twist.

You may want to look into an add on frame cradle. Art Morrison in WA makes some nice ones but there are others on the market. Some are model specific and some are peice meal. You basically have to make it fit with your trani, drive shaft and exhaust which if already insalled may have to be modified (or not). No one will see it but if you crawl under your ride it will look pretty *****en! Most of them are round tube deals.

What have you done in the traction department to harness that big power your new motor is putting out? Narrowed nine inch with a locker, 4.11 gears, a four link, coil overs and some big meaty slicks? You are saying the car is old school so I take it you have done none of the above... If the power can't get to the ground you are not going to twist anything. The car will probably smoke the rear tire for a week if you want it to but it isn't going to twist the frame unless you can do some axle snapping, front wheels hanging launches and that isn't going to happen with a stock rear suspension and skinny radials. Don't worry about it.
