suspension swap

k this may sound like a stupid question but kan the leaf springs and the front springs and shocks from a 1988 chevy single cab fit a 1999 chevy silverado ext cab? im switchin cuz the 1999 has airbags and i wanna put them on the 1988 chevy and return the newer chevy back to stock but i dont wanna spend money on new parts

I would have to think that it isnt a direct swap. The '88 and '99 are completely different from the ground up. I must ask this: Why would you want to put suspension components from an older generation pickup on a newer one?

But, if you really want to do it then you need to break out your measuring tools and measure such things as torsion bar length and the distance between spring shackles. That will at least give you an idea of what you're in for.
