Suspension upgrade for 50 Merc

Just acquired a 50 Mercury 2dr. First found this car about 18 yrs ago but it has been tied up in an estate. I want to upgrade the front suspension but don't really want to clip it. I have heard of a ball joint conversion but can't find any info. Any Ideas?? Also, what would be a good steering box to use.
Thanks, Jack

Oh yea, don't give me any links to Fatman, don't think I want to go that route.

Jack, a fellow club member has been a die hard Ford/Lincoln/Mercury guy for years and owned many of them. He just acquired a 50 with a Mustang II under it. He is whining about the SBC under the hood, but he loves his Merc. You may want to drive up to Asheville one day and look it over for some ideals.
