swap meets

This is kinda a hit and miss deal but as a general rule i think parts go cheeper at a swap meet then on e-bay. As a matter of fact there are some things i buy at the swap meets just to re-sell on e-bay. Some of the parts i can make really good money on....

351 clevland parts are on the high end of pricing any way so you would be blessed to find any "good" deals on those parts.......

The thing with a swap meet is you can hold the green backs under the persons nose and alot of times it will result in a sale... and there is not someone else standing right there bidding against you,,,well most of the time there isn't.

I agree with k-star.

On EBay the prices go up, plus you have shipping costs.

At a swap meet, you can inspect the item, usually negotiate down, and walk away with it...if you can find what you are looking for.

what would u say was an expected average price for a single plane 351c intake for instance at a swap meet?
or what would u say was a hi price for it at a s/m? in general used condition

thats the thing mi2 its the ,,if,, but im not talking mega rare stuff
here ive just got no idea of the sort of stuff u find at u.s swap meets or whatprices are like i would imagine loads of parts at around 40% of new price if used but good??

Come to the swap meets in Ohio...they use eBay as their price guide.
1)"how much you asking for the valve covers?"
2)"$70,Is what I can get out of 'em on ebay...."
1)"So...how much?"
2)"I said $70....and look you don't have to pay shipping"
1)"Um...good luck with that...let me know how it works out for you"

Later,
WEIMER

I agree with Weimer.. Here in Michigan our swap meets are really losing dealers, many of the older meets are now just social gatherings for the old dealers. Ebay is the reason. I used to run a swap meet circuit back in the seventies and eighties. This included The five or six big meets in Michigan, Ft Wayne, Indiana. northeastern Ohio, Toledo, and down towards Dayton.

A lot of these meets were getting to be just a shell of the former shows with just the junk that was too heavy to sell and ship and "autmobilia". There would be a few non computer people that had stuff but "I can get this much on Ebay" is what you here the most. So I now just go as a buyer. Mostly for oddball stuff and small stuff that would not draw good money on Ebay. I have cut down my travels by a good sixty percent and do a lot of Ebay sales in the fall and spring. Stuff that I bought at the swaps.
