Swap out 5300 Vortec Engine & Tranny
I am installing a 2004 Vortec 5300 engine & transmission in my 1936 Ford, which now has a 1955 Pontiac engine and hydro-matic transmission.
The engine & tranny came out of a wrecked Silverado 1500. We have the knowledge to mechanically install the engine but lack the knowledge of converting the electrical & electronics to my existing 1955 Pontiac Guages. We have the complete wiring harnesses as well as the Shop Manuals for color identification. Which wires/sensors can be eliminated? Is there a conversion kit for electronic/electrical modifying?
