Post swap valve bodies from a th-350 to a th-350c?

i have a blown up tranny and have recently aquired a th-350c. My old 350 is a 68-81 non lock up model. It is totaled. What parts are shared between these trannys? can i swap the valve body out of my early model into this late model? Will the clutchs and plates be the same? or is this a lost cause? I have a B+M master rebuild kit for my old one but the case was destroyed during a sprag failure. can i use the new style case? thanks for any info

the valve body is different than the older trans, you will also find plastic thrust washers where the older trans has metal also the newer will have different center bushing and design of the clutch pistons has changed a bit. keep late with late early with early or your end clearances won't come out right. the c also takes a lockup convertor and has the piloted input shaft and different pump.

I`d replace the converter, even so there`s a chance it can be flushed and ok, after any kind of damage to a tranny the best thing to do is either get a new one, or send yours back to the company that made it for a test and inspection, I hear they can even change the stall speed and Etc. for half the price you`d pay for a new one. Not sure what companies do this. if You know who made your converter, call them and see.

You have two options, first of all the valve body and seperator plate from the lock up unit must stay with it's case. Kits can be bought or made to convert a th350c to a th350 using the th350 pump, converter, input, but you still need the 350c valve body in it.
Second everything interchanges except for the parts listed above ..valve body and plate, converter, pump and input. Except for the valve body you can put these parts from a th350 into a th350c but not the other way around.
