swapped engine, now 4l60e trans wont work.
Hi, My name is Tim. Long time forum browser, first time poster.
About a month and a half ago I blew up the tbi motor in my truck by driving like an idiot. A buddy of mine was scrapping his truck, so he sold me his 96 vortec 350 engine. It's an older engine but it wont die. It's the only thing about his truck that didn't give him trouble. It even came with a set of headman shorty headers. I bought the GMPP vortec-tbi intake manifold, and installed the whole shabang into my truck.
Everything is in and bolted up as it should be, but it just doesn't work. It starts, revs, and Idles like a champ, but that's about all I can do.
The transmission (4l60e) slips like crazy and wont shift out of first. I dropped the pan and changed the fluid and filter, and didn't notice any unusual shavings or discolored fluid.
Also, at idle, in park, the speedo ticks. not anything significant, just ticks from 0-1 mph erratically. It may or may not have done this before the swap, and It doesn't bother me, but I don't know if that indicates anything to someone.

-15 psi fpr spring
-open element air cleaner.
If anybody could help me out with this you'd really be pulling me out of the ringer here.
