Swapping A 3 Spd 72 Gm Saginaw From A P/u To 4 Spd Saginaw From A 68 Camaro
Hello fellow gear heads.
I have a concern about swapping out the 3 spd Saginaw in my 72 gmc p/u to a 4 spd Saginaw from a 68 camaro ?
Is it ok to use the bell housing from the 3 spd Saginaw? And since the clutch and pressure plate are in good shape can I swap those with out any issue's?
Now I am keeping the 250 6 cyl that is in the p/u as I am on a limited budget but in time will drop in a 350 s/b.
It seems that that the 3 spd saginaw had threads for all 4 bolts on the transmission and the 4 spd has 2 threads and 2 holes so this leads me to believe that the bell housing on the 4 spd has 2 threaded holes? Also the 3 spd has 2 bell hosing mounts and nothing at the tail of the tranny but the 4 spd from the camaro would have had a mount at the tail piece can I fabricate a way to also put a mount at this end?
Any ways I am getting long winded and I am not that way,I think you get the idea.
