Post swapping from auto to fun

I have an 81 Z28, i would like to take out the 350 auto, and replace it with a muncy 4 speed, is it worth the effort, and where would i start

Its not too bad if you have the parts....just get the set-up from a boneyard stick car and go to work... I belive youll need the yoke from a th400
driveshaft should work just fine...happy hunting

Well then your only alternitive (if you cant find em local) would either use a locator service, or order the parts new. get a chiltons they should have the parts list in there.

if you are wanting to just shift gears buy yourself a manual valve body. it makes the trans shif when you want it to. it acts like a stick without the clutch, and it only costs about 200.00 for the parts and however much it cost for the tranny guy to put in a shift kit. Have fun I did it in my car and I am enjoying the hell out of it.

you might consider a t-10 instead of the Muncie... much cheaper, more easily available.

thanks for the help, I already have the manual valve body, but I lose to much torque for the type of driving I like to do. and nothin shifts like a muncy
