T-350 Forward/Direct Clutch Piston Seals
Are these really touchy or something.......I lubed them well and put them in the bore......tried that wire deal to guide them in but that really didn't do much.....they actually pushed in halfway easily.......but when I air test them there's a hissing.......
Took the direct clutch apart and looked at the seals.......they looked pretty good....but there's still hissing......
Kind of stuck here.....don't know why or where it's leaking.
Double checked to see the lips point the right direction...
Also, the hissing changes when I rotate them.....
Again...are these seals really fragile or something to where it's really easy to screw them up?
Anybody got any other ideas of where it's leaking?
All the rings on the pump shaft are now new......and they seem to be OK too......
you will hear some hissing with air check.
If the clutch pack piston applies with low psi air pressure (30) you are fine.
Air gets by things easier than oil does
The Direct one moves/airs up......then settles back down...using 30PSI, but when I first hit it with the air there's more pressure (using a pressure regulator that leaks a little)......at 30 it won't stay aired up.......but it moves, so thanks!..
the bore area the sealing rings run in , need to be smooth, no ridges , grooves , burrs. Often the direct drum has a groove or 3 in it.
