T-350 shift gate pattern VS Powerglide?

How much difference is there really? I have a hurst quarter stick for a th350 sitting around I'd like to use on my power glide. Can I just grind down the 3rd gear stop "tooth" on teh gate and run it? Or is the spacing between gears different?

Thanks...

Just to bring this back from the dead. I welded a nut in the first gear position of a 3 speed th350 hurst shifter gate. Works great on my glide.
