Short tail is ~6" long

I know its old but this threat fits my question and I figured why start a new one right? So I have a C10 with a TH350 with a 6" tailshaft and wanna use a TH400 4" tail.. So I could just change the slip yoke and be good to go then? What about the transmission mount location? Does it have to be moved? Can I re-use my crossmember?

The old thread was 6+ yrs old. Some members no longer visit here.

Cross member can be moved, modified as needed

The yoke needs changed, drive shaft will be about 1.375" too long**, otherwise move the X-member rearward, the holes should be there already.

**This is the difference between the two transmissions using published lengths. This does not take any other variables into consideration. You MUST ACTUALLY MEASURE to be absolutely sure how much difference there actually is.
