T-350 trans problems? Truck lost power

Just put in rebuilt th 350 from rpm transmissions, then he reccomend I use a 21-22 stall converter, so ive installed it and broke it in easy. Im driving a short bed 84 chevy truck. Now with different converter and trans it's straight up weak. Truck gets hot and just lugs. I recently had tci th-350 it would really get up and go but I lost third and did the swap

T-350 problems

Can anyone tell me if I put to high of stall torque converter in got 21-2200 stall converter. I just put rebuilt trans too. Now the truck has no balls. The trans I took out was a th 350 with 14-1500 stall, which really put out a lot of power. Can anyone give me some advice?

Coverter Dilemma

Is your engine stock or modified? If it's stock, you don't need to increase the stall. If you have put in a larger cam, you need to look at the spec sheet for the cam and get a converter that matches the lower RPM of the cam. It doesn't sound like you have made any changes to the engine so I'd put in a converter that matches what you had originally.

put the old converter back in, it was better matched.
you only need the performance converter with a build higher HP engine and I dont see anything about a performance engine mentioned.
