T-400 2-3 shifting issues

Last fall I rebuilt my th400 myself. Noe I am far from a tranny guys but I am very mechanical. Everything went great. but I have an issue. When I go for a drive it seems to run fine for 10-15 miles then going 55-60mph the tranny will kick down to 2nd gear. If I give it some gas it will go to 3rd, and when I let off it will drop to 2nd. I have not started looking at it yet but I was wondering what to look for?

I have a MAC trans pressure gauge and hose. I have read possibly high line pressure but haven't heard how to solve it if it's the issue.

Any help would be great. Thanks guys

kick down solenoid. its either getting energized somehow, or it is failing.

Actually I think it sounds like a worn governor or bore.

Measure the governor, it should be .799-.800", if it's less replace it.

It probably also has 2nd gear starts hot.
