T-400 and 3.08. rpm/tire combos?

im running a cad 425/th400 threw 3.08 rear. i have no tach and would like to know what is a safe tire size to run on it. this is my d.d. and sees 60mph+ everyday. right now i have a set of 31/12.5 r15 on it. i realy dont wana smoke this motor, its old and needs sum help but i dont have the money right now

Probably a 15" rim with a 26 or 27 inch tire; you'll need to calc your application to get the proper speedometer gear to dial it all in. 16 and 17" rims make it look nice, but you get into more expensive tires, decreased low-end performance and heavier rims.

thanks for that info. i have a realy tight budget so im not worried avout the spedo right now lol its ben off since i put this motor trans combo in. do you have ayt idea about what rpm i would b running at 60 with my combo and say 27 in tires on 15 in rims? and what would 27in transfer over to in the xxx/xxrxx system? 245/75 r15 maybe?

Google "Gear tire ratio chart" there will be several sites that pop up. Enter all of your info and determine what you think your engine will handle for rpm's @ 60
