T-400 conversion to 700r4
 

Hi, I have an 86 Chevy c-10 shortbed 2wd I'm want to put a 700R4. Just wondering if it would bolt up to my vortec 350 and if I would need a long nose or a short. Also would I have to mod anything such as the tranny mount. Any suggestions as to where to purchase one also would be great.:rolleyes:

Yes it will bolt up to the 96-99 Vortec.
There is no long or short Tail 700R4, the Vette 700R4 is slightly shorter.
Your stock Crossmember should work, slide it forward.
87-92/93 700R4 is the best to start with, has more factory upgrades.
Driveshaft may need to be shortened or Slip Yoke changed depending on what length the TH400 is.

Make sure you have the correct TV Cable & Brackets and it's set properly before use. The TV cable isn't like a Detent cable or switch, it controls line pressure, shift points, shift feel, part throttle downshifts and the detent downshifts.
