T-400 Id
Howdy folks! I have a TH400 behind the 383 stroker in my Luv and I have googled until my eyes bled (not really, but pretty darn close!) to find what it originally came out of. There is a tag on the passenger side with the following numbers: 428 across the top, then below it is
CT - 69 - 84705 Any ideas folks?

On the LH side just above the pan there will be a partial VIN stamped into the case. It will have the code for the make, year, final assembly plant and the last six digits of the VIN of the car it was installed into.
From the final assembly plant code, and year you can determine what model was assembled at that plant at that time. The C is for Chevrolet, the T would be the engine, 69 is the year, 8470S trans serial # |
