t-400 rebuild confusion

I found this forum looking for information with the TH 400 I am rebuilding. I have 2 manuals and a video on rebuilding but they conflict on specs and the models they list have 3 character deignation all starting with A, mine is model FI. Manual model says all other models, which I assume mine is, should have a dished plate in the forward clutch, it does'nt.
Anybody know where I can get information on specs and MODEL numbers.
Thanks.

These t-400 trans are many years old.. the inner workings may have been modified or replaced.

If you have an aluminum piston design for the dished shaped cushion plate.. it is advisable to toss the dished plate ( they crack - break) , install a flat plate on top of the aluminum piston , then a waved cushion plate if working on the forward clutch drum.

A direct drum , I remove the cushion plates completely
