Well, here is the update. I ordered and installed (from the botttom side) the transgo reprogramming kit. To my huge disappointment, there is absolutely no difference, so the problem lies within. It seems that I am going to have to pull the unit out and rebuild it again. With the exception of looking for broken/damaged seals, do you have any particular suggestions?

Not sure if this helps, but when I test drove it in ratchet mode it remained in 1st to 6000 rpm and when I shifted up it simply stayed in 1st. When I shifted again in hit 3rd, but it never hits hard, it slides into gear like a granny car. I do have a 3500 stall converter and large tires, so will this thing ever bang the gears when it is right?

I would suggest a full tear down and inspect. There is a problem somewhere. Stuck valve in the v-body, governor problems, cut seals

Not knowing which TransGO kit was used, the shifts may only be slightly firmer than OEM to more aggressive with a different TG kit.

Thanks Crosley. I removed the trans and decided to take it to a race transmission shop about 2 hours up the road. I am going full manual .
