T-400 vacuum line Identification

I have a TH400 transmission and I am wondering what the 2 vacuum lines on the transmission are for.

#1 is a Vacuum Modulator, it should be connected to Full vacuum port on the Intake Manifold. Normally between the Carb & Distributor on a Runner.
#2 is a Vent for pressure to escape from heat build up.
