T-400 valve body ID

Hey, i recently picked up a TH400 that was "rebuilt". Its destined to be rebuilt with better frictions and steels. The guy i bought it off of tlold me it had a shift kit but didnt know if it had a stock valve body. This is what it looks like. Is that a GM? or is it after market? Oh and does any body know what the wire from the body to the outside is for?

It has what looks like a TransGo basic separator plate between the valve body and case. Those plates wear out at the check ball locations quickly.

Other mods needed too, that I do not see from here
