Gonna hijack here for a moment, anglia, this is why I was asking him because I'm now getting this whining noise, goes away as soon as things warm up, I did not use any large hose clamps as was suggested to align the pump half's, but I can say with confidence it was well and truly lined up when I put it together I spent some time on it making sure as it was obviously important.

gm pump

you have to use a alignment strap, some guys put the pump backwards in a empty case to align it then tighten the bolts.the stator shaft has to be centered with the pump gears

Hi guys!

I removed the pressure regulator and the valve body again. I inspected the valves again. There were no burrs, but some of them showed minor signs of friction. As if some spots were polished. I treated the valves with 2000 grid sandpaper soaked in ATF. Put everything back together and went with a TransGo Shift Kit this time. How it works perfectly!
