Is your 400 out of a truck.

Car is a slip yoke and trucks are bolt type, they won't inter change without some maching.

^^^ yes...does your output shaft have a threaded hole in the center of it??....and how about the inside of the yoke,is it splined all the way,or is it smooth for the first 2 inches or so?....and is it a new or used yoke?...questions for possible further suggestions.

If the seal journal on the slip yoke is too large, you need a tail with a larger bore or you need a yoke with a smaller journal.

If you think the yoke was hard to find!?? The housing can be worse. There's an E bay place that has all the yokes for T-400's and others. Offshore, I'm sure, but I got one and it's actually pretty good. If you really get in trouble, I have a housing and yoke left over since I went to a bolt on overdrive unit. You can PM me if needed.

A yoke is available... Spicer# 2-3-5281X But the yoke is 5.188 long and may not be long enough for you. The seal surface is 1.688.

thanks for the help I think this is the most helpful forum online and thanks for the yoke part number and seal surface prostreet6t9
the barrel I need is exactly 2" longer than the TH350 yoke.
I don't remember the length of the TH350 but I will look again when I get home.
also does this mean my TH400 came out of a car since the dimension is smaller.

maybe this thread can help others doing the TH350 to TH400 swap I will look up that part and see if it will work or try and hunt down another.

also It would be helpful if you knew the sellers name I am still looking

Edit: I cant find any that fit the 1.6 that are 6.94 or 7" long which is what I need
