Hi everybody,
I have a 1951 Merc Flathead engine that I want rebuilt into a hotrod configuration for installation in a 1932 Ford Highboy that I am planning on building.
Flywheel, bellhousing, cluthe & transmission are missed.
i want to put a manual speed transmission on it.
Could you please tell me what the best choice and the more easy to put between a ford 4 speed T10 transmission or a ford 5 speed T5. What Ford common model car (year included) can be the donnor for the transmission and the rear end?
I am new to these motores so any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

I would need to do some checking on an adapter for the trans..Check with speedway motors as they have quite a bit of stuff for the flatheads..either trans will hold up to the flathead but it may be easier to find the trans (t-5) and rear end from a v-8 Mustang of any year..I notice you are in France so I am not sure of what is available to you there..

pre 1996 V8 or 4cyl mustang will have a T5 if manual.. 5spd T birds also and Merc Capris.

You need a Chevrolet s10 or GMC S15 T5 5 speed. 1982 thru 1992 ouit of a 2 wheel drive vehicle.
