T350 output shaft play

I had a leaking rear seal in my t350 transmission and when I pulled the driveshaft to change the seal, I found that I could move (wiggle) the output shaft of the transmission. Is this a problem? How much movement is acceptable for this shaft. The movement was up and down and side to side, not forward and back.

Some movement is expected with the drive shaft out what you need to check is the movement with the front yoke installed there is a bushing in the tail shaft housing that the yoke rides in and this clearance is that is important too much play here will cause the seals to go bad among other problems later.
