T5 assembly question on input shaft.

I'm putting a T5 into my 66 Mustang. The T5 I'm using is out of a 97 Mustang V6. Don't worry, I've found out that the V6 unit is actually a 300 ft lb rated V8 T5 ( Modern Driveline). Code # 238

I bought the correct shorter input shaft to install. I was VERY carefull and cautious removing the old input shaft with regards to needle bearings, ect. So I transfered the main tapered bearing over, the inner set of needle bearings, the thrust washer that covers them and the larger thrust bearing that contacts the synchro assm. I know that the enplay must be set via shims, so I down loaded the manuel from Tremec off there web site. I see in the exploded view that there is also a thrust bearing that rides on the thrust washer that rides on the synchro, that fits inside the inputshaft. So, I'm thinking despite being carefull I musta dropped it inside the case. I took the top cover off to retrieve it and quess what, no bearing!

Am I right? is it just a thrust washer only or is the bearing asm. used on some? TIA.

Tom
